If I change the showonFB to True the process state will stay IN Progress and I can see an error message in the diagram as follows:Error sending message (mex={PartnerRoleMex#65546 [PID {http://intalio com/fb_ping/process}process-4] calling This email address is being protected from spam bots you need Javascript enabled to view it (...)}): Duplicate entry '0' for key 1any help?thanks,Reza Hi Reza,it looks like my implementation of the web service is not working well. "Comment on Yahoo Invites Us Into Mash, Its New Social Network by ..." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-16 07:50:02

A little more than two months after we rumors about Yahoo’s new social network Mosh the affiliate has given us a catch of a social communicate with a slightly different name: . The service includes features common to Facebook. MySpace and My Yahoo. You can load a set of modules onto your profile page and act them around drag-and-drop style. The modules include Flickr RSS. Ego bring up. Common Friends. MyMoshLog2. communicate Module (RSS 2.0). Asteroids. Astrology. PimpMyPet. Hover. Kaleidescope. Guestbook and My Stuff. The modules gallery also states that “in the coming months we’re going to change state up our module development platform to 3rd party developers,” which suggests that press will be following in Facebook’s footsteps at least to some extent (it will be interesting to see whether there ordain be canvas-like pages too). Users are encouraged to alter each other’s pages. Each time we visit our profile summon we are seeing new modules that others have loaded for us. This capability certainly adds to the “mashing” aspect of the social network. It is also appears as though Yahoo intends for users to press their information together from across the affiliate’s various properties perhaps making Mash the main hub for Yahoo users. While profile pages be to have a pretty consistent structural layout (like Facebook) users can customize the design of their pages by changing colors and inserting background images (like MySpace). press also has something called beat which is very similar to Facebook’s news feed. The Pulse summon shows “updates from your friends” that are basically Twitter-like messages reporting all of your friends’ activity on Mash. Unfortunately it looks desire Mash lacks a vital feature of Facebook: examine. In the top right of every Mash page there is a examine box for regular Yahoo search but that appears to be it. Yahoo is calling press the next generation of profiles and has plans to roll it out quietly. press users can invite their friends into the network so we’ll be getting a section for Mash up on shortly (modify: We have set up an InviteShare page for press ). When you invite a friend into Mash you can create a compose for them that they can decide to choose or not. Mash appears to be Yahoo!’s way of saying adieu to its existing social network but no evince yet on whether the company ordain actually be shutting drink 360. “On first color. press looks like a go across between Facebook. MySpace and Netvibes/Pageflakes/My Yahoo!” — it also has a bit of Wiki DNA: anyone you give permissions to can edit your profile or add modules they think are relevant to your profile. “press”-ups are a big inspiration here. I like the idea of being able to edit others profiles — seems almost like turning the whole compose into a super “protect” or “mention come in” — just wish there is privacy/controls in place so people can’t erase all my hard bring home the bacon or put words into my ‘mouth’. So it’s in iGoogle summon pulling all my relevant feeds with my conceive of slapped on top? Yahoo!’s truly innovating. The “friends” are no doubt from Yahoo! Messenger. Truly awesome go from Yahoo! the only dilemma I undergo is whether I should convey myself to my friends with Yahoo! 360 or yet another bleak self-portal from Yahoo! Interesting very Interesting. Finally 360 is going to be replaced by something exceed. Yahoo is such a powerhouse with so many users and their friend groups that they can quickly reach masses. Of late they undergo been little differ with consider to number of products competing with each other. Hope this is part of consolidation/improvements they have been trying for. Good Luck to all the Yahooooos!! I have not played with it yet but based on the information we have it seems that they are merely playing surprise up with Facebook at least for now. I have no doubt that there is great and promising technology behind all this but I would desire them to furnish what makes them different and better otherwise there is no inform in leaving the leader of the pack. And nobody really wants to manage multiple identities at least once the novelty has worn off unless they are used for radically different purposes (e g family and friends vs business vs hobby). So far the only thing that seems different is the ability to edit other people’s profiles with the proper access privileges. Use cases gratify? I would think most populate would rather be in full charge of their own image unless they’re dead maybe (e g genealogically-oriented social network à la Geni). My 2 cents based on the information I have… Glad to see something new coming out of there but is anyone else fatigued with social networks too? Do we really be another (does Yahoo need 2 — btw kill that Yahoo 360 thing already. OK)? Do I have to merge my buddy list over yet again? And really what’s the gain this time around? So I can edit my profile and my buddy can too but so what? Facebook’s f8 platform is pretty cool too but it seems desire a novelty that is wearing off. (how many apps can I add and really who cares?) What will press accept me to do that moves us all forward and makes this more intrinsic to my online life? I don’t be a wiki. I don’t need a clump of widgets. I already undergo all my friends. Looking send to seeing what’s coming up as it rolls out of beta. I’m sure more ideas are coming but maybe I’m too old for this cram. It’s fun but fun is fleeting. Yahoo!Mash? Interesting choice of label. It sound to me very close to Mashable. I query what would come about if the little Mashable decides to sue Yahoo! for copyright infringements. It seems to be a trend these days (I don’t know if you heard about Lulu suing Hulu… To be honest I undergo no reasons to complain about any of Yahoo!’s products so I don’t really see how they can fail now. But what is the point on creating a new social communicate when they already own so many? Everybody dissing it is completely missing the point about why this is so fricking alter revolutionary even. Obviously you either haven’t used it at all or you only used it for a minute. First of all this place’s fun level is directly proportional to having actual friends. If you don’t undergo any friends and not myspace “friends” but real honest to goodness friends you are going to completely miss out on more then half the fun. Rather then just being a number (as in “you undergo x be of friends”) that can *woohoo* leave a mention your friends can actually interact with your summon. They can put alter modules up and dress your background image your module colors and just about everything. They can bedevil you compliment you and entertain you. There’s a surprising amount of displace to this: you want to come approve and see what your friends did to your page to copulate with you. And of cover you want to fuck with them approve. Those who are worried about this newfound freedom completely missed all the permission controls and revision history. You can set your site up to not be messed with and you can change by reversal it approve to a previous version at any time. But you miss out on what is so alter and fun about this in the affect. It’s the equivalent of going to a party and locking yourself in a confine. Also not mentioned so.

"Antoine RJ Wright on: Social Networks as a Mobile Device Enabler" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-05 10:06:39

Antoine upon whom I stumbled via Carnival of the Mobilists has a nice thought be adrift on social network apps that meld well with the mobile. Ok so they're a ton of folks talking about this but I particularly liked his comment that: "Mobile devices are already here as the handshake and so the question is what are social networks doing to get you off the computer and get you in lie of one another?" Lately. I've kept repeating that the mobile is the ultimate social networking forge. Instead of trying to drop these services onto a mobile device we need to use the mobile devices to FUEL our social interactions online especially to do what Antoine says: to bring about to a handshake. Already living within our social interactions mobile devices facilitate our innate ability to interact with one another and increase that beyond the temporal to an attachment that we can reconnect at [nearly] anytime.... When a social network can get past the place of just engaging the connected drive to facilitating a be interaction then we undergo a software service that would act the handshake metaphor appropriately into the 21st century.

"rewarding user generated content" posted by ~Ray

Quite a few of Expatica users are keen to write up their experiences or offer their specialist knowledge and insights about Expatica countries. Very often the circumscribe enhances our product and so we are delighted to publish it. When it comes to being acknowledged for their contribution the reactions of contributing users writers and experts are - as you would expect - very mixed. Proper recognition and credits is enough for most users while some simply express in the words of Rod Tidwell in Jerry McGuire. “show me the money!” is that it is sufficient to furnish users a platform within their hallowed pages in which to share their personal experiences. The Scottish poet Alexander Smith said “To be occasionally quoted is the only fame I compassionate for.” But is that really enough? The strategy pursued by most user-generated sites - whereby the contributing author receives nothing more (or less) than online eternal fame - is clearly a dead copy. A final ingeminate from Spencer Tracy. “It is up to us to furnish ourselves recognition. If we wait for it to go from others we feel resentful when it doesn’t and when it does we may well reject it.” It is surely up to place publishers to prevent such a gloomy mood from descending on their cherished users. We’re up to some pretty exciting things here at Expatica. In fact we’ve got loads of dramatic changes and improvements coming your way in the next few months! "Email, Blah" posted by ~Ray

Welcome and thank you for visiting Mobile Ministry Magazine. Here we investigate the use of mobile technology and how it can be used by ministers missionaries and many others as a means to augment their abilities to share the Gospel about our mission to educate and instruct at the intersection of faith and technology. If you undergo any questions or comments or would like to partner with us and let's till this ground together. Most of the measure when populate in ministry think of email the first feeling that comes to mind is "blah." telecommunicate has really gotten to the point where its a necessary item and yet something that we at times can be at with a good level of disdain. One of the reasons for starting MMM harks approve to that specific feeling of email and how often emails would go unanswered or passed along to an administrative aide because of the volume or intensity. I prescribed smartphones and data packages that took advantage of the telecommunicate aspect of what came in so that the burden of reading and replying to email could be spread out through the entire day not just given one large window (that a single email could easily discourage). Tonite. I checked telecommunicate after a long day and noticed that in a few of my email accounts. I had over 30 messages that I never downloaded to my device. Nevermind the amount the fact that I did not read them was alarming. Here I was at the end of a Friday night and I am cheking telecommunicate. Instead of the chore being lessened it was now amplified because I forgot to analyse it during the day. Its in a situation like that where I be at solutions like RIM's berry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Information Server/System and Microsoft's ActiveSync as viable options. Yes emails come to you either timed or immediately but the active noticing of them usually means that there is some part of your object that will take a minute to be and discern whether the email is worth now taking measure or later. For all but one of my email accounts. I use a Push email solution and it just happens to be on all of those that I fell behind. Email became blah when I saw how much to go through. To change that I've got to go back to setting a time when emails go in automatically so that they are not left too long if important. And at the same measure undergo a more positive attitude about email it just makes replying to the important ones that much easier. Here are some solutions for email on the go that may or may not demand a smarpthone but do require a data plan on your mobile or an active WiFi connection to bring home the bacon:- Microsoft ActiveSync via MS Exchange- Nokia Intellisync- Nokia send for Exchange- Yahoo Go for Windows Mobile and Symbian- send2transfer hosted MS Exchange- Google Mail IMAP- Yahoo Mail Plus There are many others and most are compatable with mobile devices and latops. The hosted solutions out there might also be a good idea for those of you in organizations that need to not only have email on the go but a shared calendar assignable meetings and other 'big office' features without the expense of an IT department. back up Mobile Ministry Magazine back up churches missionaries and other ministries exceed do their jobs by donating your unused mobile technology. We ask only for that which is in good working order. All mobile technology donated is given (NOT SOLD) to those populate and ministries whom are in need.

"Digital Hurdles" posted by ~Ray

accept and thank you for visiting Mobile Ministry Magazine. Here we explore the use of mobile technology and how it can be used by ministers missionaries and many others as a means to augment their abilities to overlap the Gospel about our mission to educate and instruct at the intersection of faith and technology. If you have any questions or comments or would like to furnish with us and let's till this fasten together. One of the barriers to using digital 'anything' as a tool within ministry settings is the fact that being any aspect of digital means that you undergo some aim of affluence. Unfortunately this does not speak towards the majority of those who need Christ nor to many who are Christ-followers and so digital 'anything' and 'everything' has to take a respecctive backset until it has its place. For example yesterday I was at the community laundry mat and per my usual. I had something to eat while talking with a few (random) people. Somehow and this time not my fault we got on the subject of phones and a guy pulls out a Nokia N800 Internet Tablet. He says that he really likes it but there was no one even at the store where he bought it that was able to help him. Of course. Nokia's Blogger Relations helped to make be a about this device and I was able to back up him with his device and then open a door to conversation that will hopefully lead to him not just deepening his relationship and convictions to Christ but also making him a lighten to his community family and friends. If you will we can sometimes be so digitally tuned that we forget that there were social networks before Facebook. MySpace and Jaiku. Our express and the abilities that God has already given us to communicate the truth of His Son to everyone is right there. The digital element is to be used as a part of the speaking piece in the mist of that not before it. After that we'll find that one of the digital hurdles are done. Now as for the other one of actually digitizing everyone. I am not sure that soemthing like that is needed; but understanding the displace for digital even in the lives of those that do not -- and then teaching them the difference -- makes for another move of this life that is a lot less of a hurdle than it was before. back up Mobile Ministry Magazine help churches missionaries and other ministries better do their jobs by donating your unused mobile technology.
